Milad Darou Company’s potassium iodide tablet is a protective drug used in cases of nuclear radiation release.
This drug should only be used in situations where the country’s official authorities declare that there is a risk of nuclear radiation release.
In this situation, a lot of radioactivity may be released into the air, and potassium iodide tablets help protect the thyroid gland from absorbing radioactive iodine.
After radiation accidents, iodine-131, as the most abundant radioisotope released into the air, can accumulate in the thyroid gland and lead to thyroid and esophageal cancer.
Potassium iodide tablets with a molecular weight of iodine-127 replace iodine-131 in the thyroid and prevent its absorption.
The recommended dosage of this tablet is one tablet per day for people over 12 years of age, and half a tablet for people under 12 years of age.
